My Approach

My approach is integrative, drawing from attachment theory, Transactional Analysis, and an exploration of how early experiences have shaped your current behavioural patterns. I am experienced in working with anxiety and depression, relationships, life changes, OCD, self-harm and suicidal ideation.

I also specialise in working with trauma in all the different forms it can take, and hold a further qualification in working somatically. Somatic work highlights the importance of both the body and the mind in healing, and we may explore different tools and techniques to bring about a deeper understanding of what the body is holding - we can choose whether or not to bring somatic work in to our sessions together depending on feels relevant and helpful to you.

What we discuss in each session is led by you; I believe you are the expert in your own life and will not set any agenda that does not feel appropriate to you. I offer both online and in-person sessions.

My sessions are 50 minutes long, with in-person sessions held at The Crescent Practice, close to Horsham town centre. Before starting regular sessions, together we can arrange an initial consultation where we will explore why you have chosen to begin counselling, a little bit about your background, and what your hopes are in terms of change and support in therapy. I offer both weekly and fortnightly sessions.
